Happy Chocolate Sunday!

Woooo it’s Easter!

‘Course, that doesn’t mean much to me today, as Alex and I ate all our chocolate several weeks ago. Self-control isn’t something that comes easily when we discover amazing-looking vegan Easter eggs (e.g. the new Buttermilk ones from Sainsbury’s!)

Oh, and we also had a dark chocolate Lindt bunny each as well 😉

[Almost] not all in one go.

Also, you know in my last post I talked about going to the launch of Bosh’s new recipe book? Well, they were selling them in my local Tesco, so I picked up a copy and made one of the recipes the next day: the peri peri chorizo bake, which was delish! Here is the recipe page and what the results looked like: (Click on the recipe photo to get full-size)

Lastly, I finally got around to making a meme which I thought of a while ago. Anyone who has seen Shaun of the Dead will appreciate it. It’s called “When you post vegan-related content on social media…”

Bosh! Launch event and Koocha Mezze Bar

Ciao peeps!

Little update with a couple of things I’ve been up to over the last few days:

Firstly, I had a delicious breakfast at Roots & Shoots last weekend, consisting of a facon sandwich and a vanilla latte, both of which were lovely and a great start to the day. They have a good deal on this combo, and have also just started offering £1 coffee to commuters in the morning 🙂

A couple of nights ago, I went to the launch of Bosh’s new cookbook “Bish Bash Bosh” at Waterstones in Bristol. It was fun and inspiring to hear these two down-to-earth guys talk about their own vegan journeys and their working process. I will buy the book as soon as I have some spare cash again 😀  Apparently one of their recipes is an adaptation of Temple of Hackney/Camden’s ‘chicken’ so…. Yeah, I will be making that asap.

Also, as soon as I left the launch, I saw this advert by goveganworld.com on the side of a bus (which I snapped very blurrily) so it felt like a very vegan evening!

And yesterday, I finally paid a visit to the Gloucester Road area of Bristol, to have a look at the famous row of independent shops, and also to visit an eatery called Koocha Mezze Bar which I have heard very good things about: http://www.koochamezzebar.com/

And yes, it was very nice! We had a kebab, dirty fries and some raw cheesecake, which made for the most pleasingly aesthetic meal I’ve had in a while:

So overall, I have had a very Instagrammable few days! (Not that I Instagram food; I keep that for my artwork only 😉 )
