I have been increasingly impressed with Sainsbury’s recently due to their expanding range of vegan meat substitutes. The other day I went back to my local branch and saw that they have another new range called “Love Your Veg” which consists mostly of ready-meals (something which can currently be quite limited for vegans). I got a sweet potato katsu curry, rainbow veg stew with dumplings, and some caremelised onion sausages (which are made from mushrooms but do not taste of them – perfect!)
Here they are in the chilled section:
Being cruelty-free really is getting easier every single day 🙂
Some more good news: Alex and I were in central Bristol again a couple of days ago after visiting friends. It was raining and we were searching for something to eat and struggling to think where to go. I quickly Google-Mapped “vegan” and a place called Roots Lounge popped up, which has only been open a month. We went there just in time to be served and had an absolutely delicious vegetable korma and some chai tea each (best I’ve ever had!) I also took some cakes away which also were lovely.

The funny thing is, when I looked up their web address just now to link here, their symbol looked familiar and I remembered that, back in January, I actually donated a bit of money on their JustGiving page when they were raising money to set up a new plant-based cafe! So I inadvertently visited the place I supported 😀 Well I’m glad I did, cause it’s amazing and I’m sure we will go back for many breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the future!
