I am based in the Bath area, but a lot of these have branches elsewhere too. I will continue to update this page as I discover new places to eat and shop.
Cities and towns are in alphabetical order:
Beyond The Kale
Apart from selling honey, this is an entirely vegan cafe located in the old Green Park Station. They do a wide range of hot food, snacks and drinks, have an on-site shop, and host regular vegan supper clubs!
The Green Rocket Cafe
This is a gem of a place, which is run by vegans and serves the most delicious vegan and vegetarian food. My partner liked the cashew cheese on his burger so much he nearly happy-cried! 😀 It is also my go-to place for vegan cakes; they always have a wide range and make big ones to order as well. So far, my favourites are the banana & chocolate, orange and pistachio, and mint-choc cupcake. The owner is planning to release a recipe book later this year, so I will link it here in future.
An extensive vegan health food shop/supermarket. Like most health food shops, it is pricey but often worth it for their hard-to-find products. However, they also have a counter full of hot and cold snacks and cakes which are reasonably priced and mostly vegan!
I discovered this place unexpectedly, when we were looking for a place to eat before going to the cinema. It is tucked away in the upstairs of a building near Bath Abbey, and has a decent vegan menu. My top recommendation would be their mushroom and bell pepper curry.
Yak Yeti Yak
A good place for a light meal as, although it is vegan friendly, their options are limited to small-ish vegetable dishes. Would be nice to share a few along with rice and chutneys
Acorn Vegetarian Kitchen
A lovely place for a special meal (as it is expensive!). Lots of dishes are marked vegan on the menu, and the restaurant is a lovely mixture of homely, rustic décor, and friendly, relaxed staff, but with very posh, beautifully presented food. You also get some “free” nibbles 🙂
This was a gastropub which my vegan friends recommended to me 🙂 They have an entire page of vegan options, which include hot-dogs and many, many chips! Beware: the hot-dogs have chips included, which we did not realise when ordering an extra side of cheesy chips, hence this picture:
Eat a Pitta, Cabot Circus
This is a lovely little stall in the middle of Cabot Circus, where you get a very good-value box full to the brim with falafels, salads of your choice, and a warm pitta bread! Great for stopping by – you can sit in or take away
Delicious Italian fast food, which serves a wide range of vegan pizza, lasagne etc. Was lovely to hang out there on a rainy afternoon in Bristol.
Vegetarian Food Studio
A short walk from Cardiff Central Station, this Indian and Oriental themed restaurant is open till late and has an extensive vegan menu.
BBL (Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch)
Fantastic little café for home-made vegan breakfast, drinks, snacks and cakes, We loved their all-day breakfast and burgers!
The Auld Hoose
Rightly famous for their enormous nachos!
Offers a wide range of delicious, smooth vegan ice-cream. When we visited, they had about six flavours available!
This Indian restaurant is not a specifically veggie of vegan one, but the staff are very helpful in creating vegetable-based dishes which are yummy and filling. Very good value too!
Missy’s Vegan Cupcakes
This stall is only open in the Grassmarket on Saturdays, but they supply several nearby cafés at all other times. Big variety of fab flavours, and even an Oreo cheesecake!
Fantastic, homely restaurant with a cafeteria-style serving system of main dishes, desserts and drinks. Big portions at very good value, offering additional student discount! They have an entirely vegan branch just a few yards down the road as well.
The Baked Potato Shop
Huge potatoes, and plenty of choice for vegan fillings!
A very handy allergy- and vegan-friendly shop on Keynsham High Street, where you can also order specific items. Well-stocked!
An entirely veggie and vegan Indian restaurant with a buffet-style serving system; pay set prices for a selection of items of your choice. Very good value!
The vegan choice here is limited, but they have good two-course offers, and the dishes are lovely if you feel lie something light.
A 100% vegan cafe near Tottenham Court Road station – they have a daily buffet where you can pay either by plate or by a takeaway box. Very healthy, you can tell!
Temple of Hackney
Another 100% vegan place, this time serving fried “chicken” (battered seitan) and other excellent treats such as mac ‘n’ cheese. Totally worth the pilgrimage to Hackney for this.
At most tube stations, they have about six vegan options
Eat-in or takeaway cafe offering lots of humous-based snacks with salads and breads
Amazing!! We nearly missed our coach home because our friend wanted to show this to us so much, And I’m not surprised why! 😀 Entirely vegan dessert bar, offering frozen yoghurt, ice cream in loads of great flavours, waffles and lots of toppings (including free sprinkles!)
I’m so glad there are plans to open more Veggie Pret eateries, because they are a great opportunity to try Pret A Manger’s best vegan treats, as well as exclusive vegan sandwiches, wraps, salads and drinks
An entirely vegan, small cute cafe in Soho whose speciality is the pulled jackfruit burger with kale crisps, which is absolutely delicious. They also serve such yummy things as hot dogs, cakes, Vego bars and cookies, and offer student discount. Fab for lunch! Also the food arrives in about 5 minutes, which is very impressive 😀
A great self-service veggie/vegan restaurant, where you pay by the weight of your plate. Wide range of dishes and cuisines. Also delicious desserts and drinks 🙂
Cookies and Scream
Wow! Not just the nicest vegan ice-cream I’ve had, but the nicest ice-cream I’ve EVER had full stop! Fully vegan and gluten free, with a wide range of cakes, cookies, milkshakes and sundaes 😀 Don’t miss this place (although it is a bit tricky to find!)
This vegetarian Indian restaurant has a large menu with lots of options marked vegan. They also have a garlic- and onion-free menu, for those who are intolerant! 🙂
Very famous amongst the vegan community for good reason! Delicious menu full of vegan drinks, mains, side dishes and sweet goodies. I want to go back there soon!
Also has branches in London, I believe 🙂 Fantastic all-vegan American-style diner, serving a huge range of burgers, fries, milkshakes etc!
Entirely plant-based cafe which serves different freshly made hot dishes, snacks, cakes and drinks every day
Holland & Barrett
Truth being told, I tend to shop here only when they have offers on, or if it’s to buy something I cannot find elsewhere (e.g. my essential Fry’s products), as it is pretty expensive. However, I’ve got myself a rewards card, and also stocked up on some handy vegan supplements and flaxseed capsules when the penny sale was on 😉
Zizzi is an Italian restaurant I’ve always enjoyed, so I was super happy when they introduced a vegan menu. They have options for starters and a dessert, and pizza which you can customise with loads of toppings. Also, they made me like olives for the first time!
This is one of the many restaurants and eatery chains, which have just introduced vegan options 🙂 They have an amazing vegan cheese which you can put on any pizza of your choice.
Pret A Manger
Pret has a lot of vegan options, and seem intent on creating even more due to the popularity of their Veggie Pret branch
Las Iguanas are currently doing 2-for-1 deals on all vegan mains!! They have an extensive vegan menu, and lots of delicious cocktails 🙂
Handmade Burger Co.
This restaurant chain has about 4 vegan burger options, as well as loads of sides and salads, and even vegan milkshakes!!
Very good value, with a couple of award-winning vegan options, including avocado bagel, curry, and chilli. Also great for cheap drinks 😉
