Portsmouth, pizzas and Plant Kitchen

Ciao peeps!

I recently got back from a night away in Portsmouth and had a couple of very nice foodie experiences whilst there: both were chains I’ve eaten in a few times previously (Zizzi and Wagamama) but I tried new things which I want to mention πŸ™‚

Firstly, Zizzi currently have their seasonal specials which includes vegan delicacies such as a four-cheese pizza and a caramel biscuit cheesecake!! The pizza was particularly nice with some chilli oil drizzled on top, and the cheesecake. was. heaven.

I’m not even going to crop this image, because I just want to stare at it in full detail. Omnomnomnom. Sure, after a pizza as well, it was a little overwhelmingly sweet and rich, but whoever made the recipe deserves a medal. Do yourselves a favour and get it before it stops being served in May.

Oh and by the way, I DIDN’T REALISE THEY DO 30% STUDENT DISCOUNT! I only realised this time because I overheard someone mention it at the next table :O

At Wagamama, I departed from the usual Katsu curry and tried their yasai samla curry, which was also delicious:

Next, the latest bulletin of ‘useful finds’: Firstly, M&S now have their own vegan range of readymeals called “Plant Kitchen”, which was very impressive and actually not too expensive. We tried their pizzas and cauliflower bites, and I’m hoping to try more in the near future…

I finally got a jar of the new Vego spread, which tastes very similar to Nutella:

And lastly, these tortilla chips from Sainsbury’s are DELICIOUS. WE confirmed this fact by accidentally eating a family size bag in one evening. After dinner. Oops. Good thing Alex has influenced me and I’ve taken up running as a new fitness hobby… πŸ˜‰
